GBL Personnel (GBL) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in all our dealings with you - both online or through direct contact with our staff. We want you to have a safe and secure experience when using our website.

We will endeavour to ensure that the information you provide to us, or we collect, remains private, and is only used for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.

Collection of personal information

GBL will collect personal information about you in order to provide you with potential employment with our clients or associated administrative functions.

GBL may collect information from you electronically, written, verbally or from third parties such as:

  • Your nominated referees
  • Results from skills/psychometric assessments
  • Publicly available services such as the Ministry of Justice, VisaView (Immigration NZ website) or background checking services (such as Veda Advantage)

If GBL has not already gained prior consent, GBL will take reasonable steps to inform you that it has collected information from the third party.

Should you be employed as a GBL temporary employee or contractor with a GBL client, we will also gain the following personal information:

  • Payroll, bank account and tax details
  • Information relating to work performance
  • Information about health and safety incidents during an assignment

For clients, we collect personal information in order to provide secure access to our online timesheet system, and requests for staff or a service.

Job alerts

In the event that you only register your email address in order to receive job alerts, your data will not be used for any purpose other than to provide you with details of suitable vacancies which may arise.

Use by third parties

GBL may disclose your personal information to third parties for the purpose it was collected, or for a related or ancillary purpose, such as providing you with one of our services. Accordingly, GBL may disclose your personal information to third parties, including but not limited to:

  • Prospective employers or clients wishing to engage your services as a temporary employee or a contractor, where you have given consent
  • Your nominated referees
  • Service providers, including organisations that conduct competency or psychometric tests; or health and safety assessments on behalf of GBL Personnel
  • GBL’s suppliers, such as computer database, IT and website providers
  • Any authorised government organisation or law enforcement body
  • Any educational or vocational organisations to verify your qualifications

Please note that you will not have access to information about you that is collected via any psychometric testing process, or from referees, as they are considered evaluative material under the Privacy Act.
